The foot and ankle is made up of a number of small bones interconnected by ligaments, muscles and fascia, all working together to give the strength, stability and flexibility the foot and ankle need to function properly. Pain in this area is commonly caused by acquired flat foot, achilles problems and sprainkled ankles.
One of the most common problems is plantar fasciitis, which occurs when a thick band of tissue on the bottom of the foot becomes inflamed. It is often caused by standing for long periods in inappropriate footwear and comes with a sharp pain.
Whatever your condition, we will assess the cause of your foot and ankle pain and look at the muscles and joints of the rest of your lower limb and back to see how these may be influencing your condition. Treatment may involve techniques such as massage, manipulation, stretching, exercise based rehabilitation and ultrasound.
